INDOLORE’s new single “Terry” is a song that carries the quiet weight of love, gratitude, and farewell. Written as a personal gesture to British rock legend Terry Reid, it has, in the wake of Reid’s passing, become something even more profound: a luminous and deeply human tribute.

Recorded live in a Paris studio, “Terry” resists overproduction in favor of emotional honesty. The arrangement is warm and restrained — organ swells, subtle percussion, Wurlitzer textures, and gentle steel guitar create a soft, enveloping atmosphere. At the center is INDOLORE’s voice: intimate, fragile, and sincere. There is no theatrical grief here, only affection. You can hear the breath between lines, the quiet tremor of meaning. It feels less like a performance and more like a letter read aloud.

Often compared to the melancholy of Nick Drake, the vulnerability of Elliott Smith, and the harmonic sensitivity of Brian Wilson, INDOLORE brings those influences into sharp focus here, while remaining unmistakably himself. His songwriting is refined but unguarded, rooted in lived experience. The history between INDOLORE and Reid — collaborators and close friends since 2009 — gives the song added resonance. Shortly before his death, Reid heard the track and was deeply moved. So was Graham Nash, who called it “a wonderful song in tribute of my dear friend Terry Reid.” As the first single from the upcoming EP La Vie Side B, “Terry” stands as one of INDOLORE’s most affecting works. More than a tribute, it is a testament to friendship — and a reminder that music can hold someone close, even after they’re gone.
