BIG SPECIAL has launched their latest track, “BUTCHER’S BIN,” which follows the success of their lead single “DUST OFF / START AGAIN,” now featured on the BBC 6 Music playlist. This new release offers a preview of their upcoming debut album, *POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES*, set to drop on May 10th via SO Recordings. In addition to the single, the band has announced their largest London headline show to date at The Forum in November and is currently on tour in South America supporting Placebo.
Lead vocalist Joe Hicklin explained that “BUTCHER’S BIN” addresses class struggles and the commodification of the working class under neoliberal pressures, reflecting on mental health challenges and artistic pursuits. The forthcoming album, *POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES*, explores depression and personal struggle, presenting a raw narrative of the working-class experience in contemporary England. Despite its dark themes, the album aims to convey a message of love, hope, and collective resilience.
BIG SPECIAL, featuring Joe Hicklin and Callum Moloney, uses their music to highlight socio-economic disparities and give voice to the frustrated working-class youth. As anticipation builds for their album release, the band is set to make a significant impact with their unfiltered approach to modern societal issues.
