Dark Templars is an uncompromising statement from Daedric Death, a black metal project forged from more than a decade of creative work and personal mythology. Emerging from the ashes of the long-running Spanish project Conjuro Nuclear (2012–2025), this EP represents both continuity and rebirth—an artist revisiting the foundations of their sound with renewed focus and intent. Rooted firmly in epic, second-era Bathory–inspired black metal, Dark Templars does not aim to reinvent the genre. Instead, it embraces its traditions: raw intensity, heroic darkness, and a sense of mythic scale. The guitars are sharp and commanding, carving out riffs that feel ritualistic and battle-worn, while the vocals deliver a grim authority that suits the project’s dark fantasy aesthetic.

Despite the use of synthesized drums and bass, the EP maintains an organic spirit. The production choices feel deliberate rather than mechanical, supporting the songs’ epic structures without overpowering them. There’s a strong sense that these tracks were shaped by human hands and long-term vision—songs that have evolved over years rather than being assembled quickly. Thematically, Dark Templars draws heavily from dark fantasy and escapist mythology. Inspired by The Elder Scrolls lore, the project constructs a world of fallen empires, forgotten gods, and cosmic decay. Tracks like “Magnicide” and “Dark Templars” establish a grand, militant tone, while “Into The Darkness” and “Stealing Stars” lean into more atmospheric and introspective territory. “Truth Is Overrated” stands out as a defiant declaration, reinforcing the EP’s rejection of modern superficiality in favor of conviction and personal truth. Visually and conceptually, Daedric Death strengthens the immersive experience. The warrior-king imagery, corpse paint, and surreal fantasy landscapes reinforce the EP’s narrative identity. Even where artificial intelligence is used as a tool—for stem separation, sample generation, or visual creation—it serves the artist’s vision rather than replacing it. The core compositions, performances, and artistic direction remain unmistakably human.
What makes Dark Templars particularly compelling is its sincerity. This is not trend-chasing black metal, nor an experiment disguised as one. It is a project shaped by time, frustration, loyalty to genre, and a desire for justice—for music that has existed in some form for over ten years to finally reach a wider audience. Dark Templars is a powerful and personal EP: epic black metal driven by conviction, mythology, and endurance. It stands as a testament to an artist who values authenticity over novelty and who continues to refine his craft without abandoning its roots.
